Asst. Prof. Josephine Louise F. Jamero, LPT, M.Ed
Josephine Louise F. Jamero is a full-time faculty member of the Department of Family Life and Child Development, College of Home Economics, University of the Philippines Diliman. She is an experienced educator for infant and toddler programs, early years programs, and for undergraduate and graduate courses. Her career has been dedicated to designing materials and programs for child development and family engagement. At the heart of her research is play for learning and development, and inclusive care and education—both of which she strongly advocates for through teaching and service. This led to the development of frameworks for the Infant Development Program for Remote Learning to reach families with newborn babies during the pandemic, and the Inclusive Early Childhood Education Framework to serve the developmental needs of “all children together, and well”. Beyond play and inclusion, Asst. Prof. Jamero also advocates for supporting competencies in literacy, mathematics, and science from the earliest years. Her work with RTI and DOST inspired the project for curating sets of open-ended materials to guide families in supporting their child’s development throughout the pandemic. Current projects aim to continue representing indigenous cultures and local wisdom for climate education in storybooks and in early learning experiences.
