Ms. Jan Alexa Carreon, MA
Alexa (she/her) is a development worker and educator. She works on child development, children’s rights, and social justice through education, especially for marginalized groups of children. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Family Life and Child Development. Beyond her work in the academe, she works with various international non-governmental organizations in advancing quality early childhood education for all. Alexa has a Master’s degree of Education, Power and Social Change from Birkbeck, University of London through a Chevening Scholarship. Her research focuses on the political economy of childhood, social justice, and the possibilities of popular education in the Philippines.
