Teaching Staff

Allia Maria Ysabell I. Acosta-Lanuza, or Teacher Allia, is an Instructor at the Department of Family Life and Child Development, UP Diliman. At the UP Child Development Center, she is currently the Teacher-in-Charge of the Vertical Class, a multi-age group consisting of three- to five-year-old children. She is also currently handling the undergraduate class FLCD 124 (Child Development Programs). 

Teacher Allia has also previously taught at a Head Start program and in a private preschool in Massachusetts, USA. Trained in the Brazelton Touchpoints Approach, she strongly believes in the importance of strong parent-child and home-school partnerships. She authored Hmm, Anong Oras Na Kaya?, a DOST-SEI-funded children’s storybook about building everyday routines. She also co-wrote the UNICEF-funded children’s storybook Alas Singko / Five O’Clock, about changing family dynamics and coping during COVID-19.

Teacher Allia is also a mom to her active and creative two-year-old, Likha. She enjoys spending time with her family and discovering new places.
